The Central Council's Decisions on methods and peals had been a source of controversy for many years, but the debate had been mainly confined to a small group of specialists who understood the theoretical issues. In spring 2016 I wrote a series of eight articles for The Ringing World to help non-specialist ringers to understand the what the Decisions were for, what the arguments were about and why it mattered.
